Our Story: Created From the Marketing Pains of a Law Firm Owner
Attorney Dan Jaffe built thriving law practices in Seattle and Phoenix in the 1990s and 2000s. After getting burned by a marketing agency, Dan learned how the internet and search engines really work. He used this knowledge to effectively market his own law practices over the course of a decade.
In 2009, while practicing law, Dan built an online legal directory, which generated significant business for attorneys in almost every state. As the directory rapidly grew, Dan decided to focus on legal marketing technology full-time. In 2010 the directory was acquired by a major internet company.
LawLytics was founded as a response to Dan’s frustrations with the legal marketing industry — and it’s the legal marketing platform he wished had been available to him. Dan and Engineer Derek Johnson co-founded LawLytics with a simple vision: to empower attorneys to grow their practices without compromising.
Launched in 2012, today LawLytics powers hundreds of the web’s most successful attorney websites and blogs, and our business is doubling each year.

Chief Executive Officer
Dan Jaffe is a member in good standing of the bar in Washington State and Arizona, and has tried over 100 cases to verdict. He co-founded LawLytics to make it simple for lawyers to participate in their firm’s online marketing.
Chief Technology Officer
Derek is a full-stack engineer and chief architect of the LawLytics platform. He co-founded LawLytics to create highly effective and specialized legal marketing software that would empower attorneys to break free of dependence on overpriced legal marketing agencies.
Rachel Chalot, J.D., M.S.W.
VP, Content Strategy
Rachel leads our writing team in crafting effective and engaging legal content. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, she practiced criminal defense before joining LawLytics.
Sean is a full-stack web developer with previous experience in SEO and content marketing.

After nearly a decade of working as a Paralegal, Danielle understands the inner workings of law firms. She is here to help our members align their online marketing with their real world business needs.

John graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law Cum Laude, after which he spent a year clerking for a civil judge before joining a civil litigation firm in New Jersey. Now at LawLytics, John helps lead the content creation efforts for our customers.

Tina graduated from McGill University Faculty of Law, and then worked at an international law firm in Washington, DC in the Environmental and Energy Department. Now at LawLytics, Tina helps lead the editorial and content creation efforts for our content clients.
Taylor holds a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications from Clemson University and is a Web Designer at LawLytics. She is devoted to ensuring that your website is designed in the best way to help grow your firm.
